Coming off one of the best victories in team USA history with a 6-0 thrashing of Honduras the Americans look to continue a comeback in World Cup Qualifying. Entering last week the Americans were at the bottom of their qualifying group with zero points.
Enter the very exciting Christian Pulisic era! Perhaps the best talent to ever come out of this country and man did he ever prove it by lighting up the Honduran defense. He created chance after chance for his teammates and all they had to do was finish in the final third, so good in fact they came out of that game with a positive goal differential.
Expect to see the same attacking trident of Dempsey, Altidore and Pulisic and why the heck not? If it’s not broken don’t fix it as they say. Panama remains one spot ahead of the USA with 4 points in qualifying so far with a neutral goal differential.
Going into this match you really have to love the morale of Bruce Arena and his team. There is a completely different atmosphere, especially after the fact they are coming off one of their best victories in recent memory. Never count out youth as well, Christian Pulisic having the time of his life and playing the sport he loves can be so contagious, he has had success at Borussia Dortmund so far in the Champions League and it seems to be carrying over.
Prediction: This one is still an away fixture for the USA but morale is so high for them it’s hard to choose against them.
