Juventus defeated Barcelona 3-0 in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals tie between the teams on Tuesday at Juventus Stadium.
Paulo Dybala scored two goals in the lopsided victory for the Old Lady and came out on top as the man-of-the-match.
The Argentinian broke the deadlock in the seventh minute by converting on a pure finisher's instinct. Dybala received the ball in the box from Juan Cuadrado and turned and shot the ball to put the Bianconeri up 1-0.
The 23-year-old scored again in the 22nd minute by smashing the ball near-post with his preferred left foot. Dybala curled the ball around Gerard Piqué whose positioning visually impaired Marc-André ter Stegen from making the save.
The forward also did well to hold up play and slow the game when he was not pushing up in the attack.
Dybala said Juventus was hungry for the result, even though they knew it would be tough against the Spanish side.
"It was a positive game for everyone," Dybala said in a post-match interview to Onda Cero. "We wanted this result, even though we knew that it's never easy against Barcelona. We made the most of our chances in the right moments."
Onda Cero then asked the youngster if he had beaten Lionel Messi in the first leg if the two are compared. Dybala said there is still a game left and made the point that it's too early to think Juventus will advance.
"No, there are still 90 minutes left [to play]," Dybala said. "It's early to talk about who will advance. Let's remember what happened against PSG."
Reports from multiple sources have linked Barcelona to have interest in Dybala. Dybala was asked about this interest from his opponent, but said he's happy at Juve and happy for his performance.
"I'm happy with what we did today," Dybala said. "I helped my team win, but there are still 90 minutes left to play. Personally I am very happy anyway."
The rising superstar also received the question about the fans' support at the stadium. Dybala said his team is always wanting to win.
"We are hungry," Dybala said. "We always want to win and we are proving that match after match."
Dybala has now scored 16 goals in all competitions, with four coming in the Champjona League competition. The forward has been influential for Juventus this season, and his two goals against the Blaugrana have been his most important goals thus far.
The Serie A leader and La Liga giant will face off again on Wednesday April 19 at the Camp Nou in Spain for the second leg of the tie to see if Juventus can hold on and advance to the semifinals, or suffer from another historical comeback by Barcelona.
