Mattia De Sciglio on the Move?

For years Milanista’s have been waiting around for Mattia De Sciglio to be the next great defender out of Milan’s youth system. But for many Milan fans he has failed to live up to expectations in their eyes. Maybe it was the comparisons to Paolo Maldini, which are unfair for any player regardless of name. Maybe it was the plague of injuries over the years and rotating from the left and right fullback positions. Regardless of what your theory might be, it is evident that his time at Milan hasn’t been what most thought it would have.

The rumors have connected him to Juventus and his former Milan manager Max Allegri. These rumors didn’t start recently; over the course of the past couple of transfer rumors there has been talk of Mattia leaving to join the Old Lady in Turin. With the new ownership taking over with Milan and one year left on his deal it just makes it seem that he is more than likely to leave this summer.

Reports of a fee around 15 million Euros would be around the area the young fullback would cost. 2016-17 has been his best season in a few years as well, so with Mattia finally showing his potential this allows Milan to make more money from a sale despite the one-year left on his deal.

Despite growing up in the youth system and starting his young and promising career with the rossoneri, it may ultimately be in his best interest to go to Juve where he can realize his full potential and become one of the top fullbacks in Italy but perhaps Europe. We will be discussing the potential sale on here for the next few weeks and will have updates as well.
