Arsenal interested in Milan’s Bacca

Premier League side Arsenal has shown strong interest in AC Milan striker Carlos Bacca, according to Tuttomercatoweb.com. The Colombian hasn’t seemed to fit coach Vincenzo Montella’s system despite the 15 goals the forward has scored in all competitions this season.

Montella prefers a forward who can get involved on the team’s buildup. Bacca is not a target-forward, but more of one that finishes the chances his team creates, or sets up for him to create. Milan has been looking for a new striker already. The club has scouted Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata and Borussia Dortmund’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Therefore, even with Bacca still having three years left on his deal with the San Siro side, he could leave in the summer. The former Sevilla player signed with Milan in summer 2015. This case is not the first time that a Premier League side has shown interest in the 30-year-old. West Ham United almost signed Bacca during the last summer transfer window. Milan and the English side agreed to a transfer fee, but he ended up staying in Italy.

Arsenal has kept its eye on Milan’s hitman and has been impressed with his goal-scoring record. Bacca may not be the right fit for Montella’s system, but the Gunners could use more in the attack. Though he’s 30 years old, Bacca can still score goals. If Bacca’s teammates set him up in the correct position, the Colombian will likely get his and his team’s name on the scoring sheet.
