Milan Active Transfer Market

AC Milan remains busy on the transfer market with a bid for Torino striker Andrea Belotti and a meeting set with Atalanta's Andrea Conti, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

Milan submitted a bid of 45€ million for Belotti. However, the striker has been one of the most highly sought after prospects in the Serie A and teams will have to pay a lot for his services. Torino set Belotti's release clause to 100€ million.

Di Marzio reports that Torino would not be willing to go below 70€ million plus players because it wants to get as close as it can to the 100€ million value. La Liga side, Atletico Madrid had approached Torino before their transfer ban with an offer of 65€ million plus two players. This may influence Milan to make a similar offer.

There's no question that Belotti would make a huge impact in the Rossoneri attack. Carlos Bacca has fallen out of favor and did not have a productive season. Belotti on the other hand is only 23-years-old and scored 26 league goals last season.

Belotti could be a difficult signing for Milan, so the club will also explore its options. Milan could possibly meet with Real Madrid's James Rodriguez, Chelsea's Diego Costa and Porto's André Silva.

On the opposite side of the spectrum, the Italian club also looks to sign Conti as another improvement to its defense. Milan will meet with Conti on Thursday and is battling fellow Milan club, Inter who is also interested in the defender.

The 23-year-old had a successful season with Atalanta, and played a big part in the club earning a Europa League spot for next season. The right-back scored eight goals and recorded five assists in the league this past season.

Conti would help improve Milan's defense along with its other signings. The player reads the ball well and has strengths in tackling, going up in the air and has the ability to make key interceptions. Conti averaged two tackles and 2.3 interceptions per game in the 2016/2017 season.

The youngster brings physicality with his play as he picked up 12 yellow cards this past season, but his defensive contribution was important for the team's fourth place finish.

Milan has already added young midfielder Franck Kessié from Atalanta, central defender Mateo Musacchio from Villarreal and fullback Ricardo Rodríguez from Wolfsburg.

All of these signings by Milan are vast improvements and pieces that are needed in order to build a side that's ready to compete in the Europa League and challenge for the Scudetto. Expect more to come from the Rossoneri
