Recently acquired AC Milan star André Silva’s agent Jorge Mendes prefers another client of his, James Rodriguez to make a move to Milano, according to calciomercato.com via la Repubblica.
Reports say that the Real Madrid player would like to make a move to Manchester United where he would immediately be a part of Champions League football. However, Mendes is trying to persuade the Colombian to join the Rossoneri.
Rodriguez seems likely to leave Real Madrid due to his lack of playing time. Manager Zinedine Zidane has showed that he'd choose the likes of Isco in the midfield.
Milan would be open to offering €60 million for the young playmaker, according to a Spanish news outlet, Don Balon. However, a problem the Italian side may face is that Real Madrid rates Rodriguez at a higher value than €60 million, according to Caracol Radio.
It makes sense why Mendes would want his client to go to the Serie A and specifically Milan. He has established good contacts with Milan’s new ownership by the signing of his client André Silva from Porto.
Therefore, there would be an advantage in discussing a move to Milan over a team such as a Manchester United. This would help strengthen ties with the Rossoneri even further for the future.
Rodriguez will only be 26-years-old in July and has plenty of talent to offer. He came into the spotlight when the world saw him perform at a high level for Colombia at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. At the biggest stage of them all, Rodriguez displayed his knack for making key passes, shoot from range and more importantly, create and score chances.
Signing Rodriguez and bringing him to Italy would be an instant boost for a Milan side who has rebuilt very well thus far in the summer transfer market.
Eyes will be kept on the situation and wait for something to happen though, as Sportitalia has reported that there have been no talks between the club for the Galacticos star. Jorge Mendes had offered James during the negotiations for Silva.
