AC Milan Begin Climb Back to Europe

Today will be the first time since the 2013-2014 season where Milan will be in European competition. They were last in the Champions League where they were ousted by a fantastic Atletico Madrid side.

But today Milan will be facing off against Romanian side Universitatea Craiova, their opponents finished in 5th place last season in Liga 1 which is the top league in Romania. Milan who are coming from 6th place in Serie A are looking to advance further into the competition.

There is a ton of hype around this Milan squad due to all the new purchases, ownership and potential transfers that are being linked with the club.

The Rossoneri are set to potentially field five of the new signings. Two of which will be in the back with Mateo Musacchio at CB and at LB with Ricardo Rodriguez. Franck Kessie will be the box to box tank in the midfield and up top Fabio Borini will most likely be on the left wing and Andre Silva possibly starting up top in the 4-3-3 formation, although you shouldn’t be surprised if Milan Youth Starlet Patrick Cutrone gets the start after a brilliant summer tour.

Some of the new signings like Andrea Conti, Lucas Biglia, Leonardo Bonucci and Hakan Calhanoglu won’t be able to participate due to fitness and financial aspects.

However Milan fans shouldn’t worry because this squad is more than capable of beating this Romanian squad. Although this fixture is on the road a good result would be massive because Milan have already sold out half of the San Siro for the home fixture and that alone is intimidating enough for any side let alone a club like Craiova.

I predict Milan to win this game handily 3-0 with goals from Niang, Bonaventura and Ricardo Rodriguez and return back to Italy with positive vibes.
